"The Future of Health" summit discusses the role of the "metaverse" at the Museum of the Future in Dubai

The Museum of the Future in Dubai today hosted the Future of Health Summit under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and President of the Genetic Diseases Society, in partnership with the UAE Genetic Diseases Society and the Sheikh Zayed Center for Genetic Research. The summit coincided with the closing day of Arab Health 2023, where speakers discussed the future of healthcare in the metaverse era, and the role of the future doctor in ensuring that the healthy life of individuals is raised, stressing that the “future of health” is another attempt to build a better world, and highlighting the role of artificial intelligence and robotics and its impact on the development of the healthcare industry.
Dr. Maryam Mattar, President of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association, said that the Future of Health Summit aims to discuss topics related to the future of health, by providing sound health care for patients in the country and providing all data and methods of sound care for them, pointing to the UAE’s approach and strategy towards digital transformation and reliance on artificial intelligence sciences, and also in conjunction with the “UAE Innovates” initiative and focusing on innovation in the health sector.
Mattar added that Dubai is uniquely positioned to host this summit and lead the roadmap to realize the potential of artificial intelligence and the optimal use of the metaverse to improve healthcare, in line with the approach set by the wise leadership of the UAE Centennial Vision 2071 to be the world’s leading country in this sector, and to create better care opportunities. The summit was attended by His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, and a number of inspirational executives from major international companies in the field of healthcare, including the surgeon who performed the world’s first augmented spine surgery, Professor Timothy F. Witham, Professor of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Daniel Kraft, Founder and President of NextMed Health, Bader Al Qubaisi, Acting CEO of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, and Francesco Rediveau, Senior Business Manager. G42 Healthcare; Shaker Zainal, Head of SME Department at Emirates Development Bank; and representatives of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Dubai Health Authority.

According to a report titled The Role of the Metaverse in Healthcare, the healthcare market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 48.3% until 2030, with industry value expected to exceed $5.37 billion.
